Notice of Permit Fees for Getai Performances

The seventh lunar month starts on 29 July this year. This is a time where many Buddhists and Taoists celebrate the Hungry Ghost Festival or Zhong Yuan Jie.

Traditionally, devotees organise colourful and lively Getai performances and auctions as they believe it would entertain and appease the roaming spirits. In recent years, such Getai performances are increasingly performed outside of the seventh lunar month as well and have a growing online presence.
