Projek Rentak is a Malay songwriting competition, organized by MediaCorp Ria and COMPASS. This project have been receiving good response from 2008 till date hence, this year we have again planned for Projek Rentak!

This campaign effort serves to seek out talented musicians and give recognition to their music efforts. This year it is known as Projek Rentak MJ12. MJ12 stands for Misteri Jam 12, which is the day of RIA TOP CHARTZ event at Fort Canning.

PANEL OF JUDGES

Burhanudin Bin Buang

Burhanudin aka Burhan Skullbanger aka Brader Bro is Executive Music Director for MediaCorp RIA and WARNA. He holds a 2nd Upper Honours Degree in History at NUS (National University of Singapore). He is also the first ever Warna-Mendaki scholar. What’s more, he garnered 20 years of involvement in the local underground metal arena as guitarist, vocalist, producer and knowledge transmitter.

Moliano Bin Rasmadi

Moliano is a music songwriter, producer and performer. He is a strong supporter of music events. He was event coordinator for Perkamus events and also a seminar speaker for COMPASS. He is also producer for TWENTY TWO albums since 1989. Beginning of this year, Moliano set up an organization, known as MyPart (Malay Youth Performing Art), to help and guide youths to achieve their music dreams.
On personal level, he is leader and guitarist of local rock band Lovehunters. Lovehunters have had NINE albums from 1987 to date. Lovehunter’s ‘Angel In The Nite’ was voted Best Song 1995 on Radio Perfect 10. His song ‘Bersama Mu’ was awarded Best Local Song by Anugerah Planet Muzik 2001. He also received Best Guitarist Award by Yamaha International Showcase 1992.

Mr Noresham Bin Abdul Wahab

Noresham is director of CMX International and head of modern music at Perkamus. He has garnered 20 years of experience in the Events and Exhibition circuit. He founded the website Inmusic.Asia with the hope to promote and propogate youth involvement in the performing arts. He successfully organized O.U.R.S Awards Nite 2011, an event aimed to give recognition to local independent musicians.

Under Sham’s direction, CMX also actively support NGOs – Silver Ribbon Singapore and TAA Trust Fund. Most recently, CMX produced a Hari Raya album compilation — Eid Tulus Ikhlas, involving ten promising local bands.

Mdm Noor Hasnah Binte Adam

Noor Hasnah is a lyricist for local artistes and writes for magazines, schools and newspaper Berita Harian. She has written several documentary scripts for TV productions. She won ‘Best Original Composition’ 3 times awarded at Gema Puisi Artistik. She is involved in music theatre too. Her theatre team had staged ‘WAWAS’ for 3 nights at Store Theater DBP Kuala Lumpur.

In addition, she is an accomplished serious short-shory & poetry writer. Ever since she started in 1998, she has won many literature awards like Anugerah Sastera Cerpen 2001, Anugerah Sastera Penghargaan 2003, Anugerah Sastera Buku Cerpen 2009. She was also awarded Goh Chock Tong Youth Promise Award (Distinction) in 2008 for her contribution in the literary, education and outstanding performance in University Malaya. She was also awarded ‘Penulis Harapan’ (Promising Writer) by Anugerah Persuratan, Majlis Bahasa Singapura.
